What we handle
Five things have to happen. Tassetta does all five.
Five capabilities on one platform, with a named CPA on every return. Some show up in your portal as things you see and approve. That is what you see when you sign in. The rest run in the ops workbench we operate on your behalf. Every screen below is labeled so you know which side of the wall it’s on.
Nexus monitoring
Know the day you cross, not the year after.
- All 50 states and DC, measured against your live sales and transaction counts.
- The rules dataset is versioned, so your position never runs on last year’s thresholds.
- Marketplace-remitted sales separated from your direct sales in the count.
- Crossing a threshold creates the obligation on your filing calendar automatically.
State registrations
Crossed means registered, tracked to the account number.
- The platform prepares the registration. A CPA reviews it. You approve it.
- Tracked through to the state confirmation and account number.
- The state joins your filing calendar the moment it is active.
- Portal credentials get vaulted so filings can be submitted end-to-end.
Filing and remittance
Calculated, verified by a CPA, approved by you, filed on time.
- Every return, per state, on the frequency each state assigned you.
- The platform calculates it; a named CPA reconciles it to the tax you collected and signs.
- You approve in one click, with every line of the workpaper visible.
- Remittance runs on schedule. A failure surfaces as an open exception until it clears.
Notices and audits
A notice gets matched to the return it is about.
- Notices intake, matched to the filing period in question.
- The response is drafted by the CPA who worked that return.
- You approve the reply. The whole exchange is logged against the filing.
- The evidence trail (source data, workpaper, sign-offs) stays attached for audit.
Exemption certificates
An exempt line that holds up when someone checks it.
- Certificates collected, validated, watched for expiry.
- Which sales are actually exempt is resolved before the return, not after.
- Every exempt line on a return ties back to a certificate in the archive.
- When an auditor asks, the answer is a folder. Not a search.
Controls enforced
Three rules the platform will not let anyone bend.
The controls that make a filing defensible on audit day are not policy. They are enforced in software.
